I started the year 2011 by still recovering from the November 2010 operation of my back. I was not studying at that time because I applied for a leave of absence for 2nd semester of that school year. So I just stayed in our house until June, when I started going back to school.
It was June 2011, the start of 1st sem, 2011-2012. Going back to school feels like I am doing it for the first time. I felt nervous and excited at the same time. I know that some of my friends wondered why I disappeared all of a sudden, and me, being the introvert type, had a hard type sharing why I had to leave school temporarily. So I just kept the reason to myself and told them that it is a secret, and one day they will know the real reason behind my long absence.
Before the school season, during summer vacation, I kept on thinking what changes I will be doing in school since I think I don't have any reasons for not doing and trying things anymore since my illness is now cured. So I thought of, why not try joining an organization? And that's what I really did on my coming back to school.
My friend asked me to accompany her to the applicants' orientation of a civil engineering organization because she said she wants to attend the said event. She kept on asking me to attend also the orientation but I refused her invitation because being the anti-social one, I knew that there will be many people and I don't like that. So I just accompanied her to the room and immediately left. But while I was walking, I realized that that was one of my plans, to join an organization. Then I knew, most of my batchmates are going to apply that time so I decided to apply, too.
I asked my batchmates who are going to apply to the organization for the dates to remember. The first event I attended was the batch meeting, wherein everyone needed to introduce themselves and also think of a batch name and assign a batch head and an assistant batch head. The name of our batch was Aggre Birds 11a (coined from the famous game AngryBirds). Then the buddy bidding. I bidded for Jopay and Marj to be my buddy for P500. I know who Jopay is because he is the one who always hosts the meetings of the organization, but I don't know who Marj is. When I got to know my buddies better, I really didn't have any regrets that I chose them. They were really like a family to me and they were really supportive and happy to be with. They are one of the reasons why applying to the organization was very easy, happy, and fun. Then the variety show wherein we had to show our talents to all the members of the organization. The practices and the actual performances were super enjoyable because we've got to perform with one another, and that is what's important. Then there came the formal interview, and the moment we were all waiting for, the final rights or FR.
Applying in UP Aggregates, I think, was really the highlight of my 2011. I have met very wonderful, very enjoyable to be with, and true people. I know that I have found my family in the university, and I am very glad that it was them. I have also found many new friends this 2011 that made my life very meaningful and cool. Though there still have been problems, I was able to go thorugh it with the help of the people who loved me and of course, God.
2011 has been a really good year for me. I have been very emotional this year and was able to appreciate everything that I have. Thank you, Lord for all the blessings you've been given me despite of the wrong things that I've been doing. You have been so good to me and I will really try my best to give everything back to you. Thank you, Lord, and I love you. ♥
